OUR PHOTOBUCKET SLIDE SHOW - IS IT R.I.P? WHAT HAPPENED TO MEEZ AVATAR?

We haven't run a slideshow since March 2013.  We had a Photobucket account which allowed us to design the slideshows we used and use; the blocks you still see running are from Photobucket (but you can't make one like it.)  Then, I went to take down the seasonal Valentines I'd put up on it and discovered that removing them had broken the code forever!  Photobucket had also discontinued slide shows, a huge mistake in my humble free-bee-snatching opinion.  Watching that slideshow used to be one of Wes' favorite things to do when we got together to talk blog.  I think we need one.

At that point I went in search of new slideshow opportunities.  I actually have a KIZOA account and uploaded a lot of pictures, but so far, no go because their slideshow templates do not fit the design/ template of the blog.

The Meez Avatar you may've seen from time to time on WES BRYAN - MY LIFE IN MUSIC, Wes' second favorite thing to view because he says it actually looks like him, is still available but we're having glitches.  A librarian friend of mine has explained that hackers have used Meez Avatars and JAVA as a new way of screwing things up for other people and so security is really tight on that.   I've looked at other Avatars but still think that Meez is the finest.  Let me explain just how bad the glitch is...  Sometimes the animated Avatar appears without a head!

GOOGLE READER - RSS FEED - WILL GO DOWN JULY 1 2013

Just to keep our followers and other friends and readers up to the latest in Google Blogger History!

Google has announced that the Google Reader, and RSS feed features which some of you use to read this and other blogs, will be history (go down permanently as far as anyone knows) in about 2 weeks, on July 1, 2013.

There are other RSS Readers out there and we will post ON THIS POST if there are any recommendations or suggestions about those products or services. *****

You can always go Old School and BOOKMARK this site.

If you use word search on Google, Yahoo, Bing, or any other SEARCH ENGINE, we are aware of another half dozen or so WES BRYANs out there.  We suggest "WES BRYAN MUSIC" as the best word choice.

WE HAVE BLOGGED USING FREE PRODUCTS AND SERVICES FROM THE VERY BEGINNING and we are grateful for the opportunity to do so.  However, even some of the world's richest companies sometimes decide that a free product or service is not worth it to them to continue.

While we're at it, we know we miss - and you probably do too - our wonderful slideshow of stars which was one of the products we have also used for free as provided by PHOTOBUCKET.

Well, we put up the Valentine's version of that slideshow this year, and a week later, when we went in to take down the Valentines there was no longer any EDITING OPTION.  Not only that, there is no longer any option to make NEW SLIDESHOWS!  PHOTOBUCKET IS ALLOWING US TO PRESENT THE SLIDESHOWS (the moving boxes) that we already made and posted.  For this we are grateful!

Hopefully we can soon reinstall a slideshow!

***** Update : We're being told that FEEDLY and DIGG will have readers.  FEEDLY is an option now, DIGG in the near future.

ELVIS PRESLEY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Elvis Presley Pictures, Images and Photos

Christine Trzyna here: When I was a kid I had one very conservative aunt who was a secret Elvis fan! This is the kind of image of Elvis that she adored; wholesome and pure! A real Mama's boy! The kind of boy who would kiss a girl goodnight on her doorstep and then get in his car and drive away! Oh do we know better now!

Wes Bryan, through his many stories about Elvis to me, has made Elvis, who I did not grow up with or become a fan of until I heard these stories, into a real human being to me, and I cherish knowing that real person through Wes.

CAN YOU IDENTIFY THE ARTISTS IN MY SLIDE SHOW?

We've enjoyed putting together our Photobucket slide show, and are often thinking about adding more old photos of music artists to it.

Can you ID the ones we have up there?

Our banner has lots of clues for you!

THE THIRD ANNIVERSARY OF THIS BLOG !

We've come so far from the day when we just had the idea that we would blog.

We started out with the basic template that Google Blogger offered, and over time changed the look of this blog three or four times. We feel settled with the customized look we use these days- the baby blue- but you never know...

This past year, because of YouTube contributers we've been able to link to some of Wes Bryan's early recordings, and we want to THANK YOU for that. It's a thrill for me, believe me...

We've also enjoyed experimenting with the Photobucket slideshow and the fun Wes Bryan Meez avatar; I really look a lot like him!

Hubba! Hubba!

Most of all, I have enjoyed hearing from old friends and making some new ones...

THANK YOU for reading WES BRYAN- MY LIFE IN MUSIC

(291) PAT BOONE records I FEEL LIKE CRYING

When I was first in New York there had been a comparison of my voice with Pat Boone's. Then, while in Los Angeles, I was recruited by Pat to work for his company as a demo maker and songwriter. Pat recording this song (and "Wishing Again") which was written by Red West and me. (Today I Feel Like Crying is on Pat's album "The Fifties - Complete.")
So I was working for Pat's publishing company, Cooga Mooga, and Pat was not only recording, but producing, and interested in presenting songs to other singers. Guess who I wanted to record this song? Perry Como!

As you may know from reading my blog, when it came to the crooners Perry Como was one of my favorites. And while working for Pat, I was introduced to Perry through Jack Spena.
