So proud of Dion, known for his early Rock and Roll hit "Run Around Sue," when he hit the charts in 1968 with this song, "Abraham, Martin, and John," a song written by Dick Holler.  It's become a classic tribute to Abraham Lincoln, Martin Luther King, and President John F. Kennedy.

UPDATE BY WES: I forgot to mention that Glen's appearances on Shindig and then on The Joey Bishop show caught the attention of The Smothers Brothers, and they decided to produce a show for him on CBS.

As a kid in Murphy, my older brother Junior and I ran around town playing Cowboys and Indians with two navy brats who lived in Murphy only a short while. We had shoot outs behind the Henn theatre! They were to become the folk singer comedians, The Smothers Brothers - Tommy and Dickie!

Tommy liked to dress all in black like his favorite cowboy, the same cowboy Elvis and I also idolized - LASH LARUE! All the kids in Murphy went around with brooms under them and ropes for whips!
