(456) THE VOGUES : WOOING GENERATIONS
VOGUES OFFICIAL SITE - TOUR INFO - CD - HISTORY link They are still performing and have a new CD out!
|Christine here. The song "Turn Around Look At Me," which is a Classic Cover Tune if there ever was one, was recorded by many regional recording artists who had success with it. (I think I first heard it on the radio as recorded by a group called The Skyliners.) The Vogues song that especially stays with me is " You Are My Special Angel," which came out in '68.

"Inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2001, The Vogues remain one of the top vocal groups on the oldies scene today."

THE VOGUES - LONDON AMERICAN RECORDS
A couple of my recordings were also pressed by London American Records for sales and distribution in Britain. The Vogues were an American group, also known for their harmonies, that invaded Britain just as the British invasion of America came to the United States. Like the Righteous Brothers, many of their songs were very romantic. Those were the days!

NEIL YOUNG : SINGER SONGWRITER MEMOIR : BOOK EXCERPT ABOUT TOURING AND YOUTUBE
NEIL YOUNG
WAGING HEAVY PEACE - A Hippie Dream
Published by Blue Rider Press - Penguin Group
C 2012 Neil Young
Chapter 11, pages 89-90 of hardback
"There are a lot of things that can go wrong on the road. If you get sick, you still play, but people think you are losing your edge. If you have half a house, people don't feel that they are part of something. If you don't have a great crew, your shit doesn't sound right. If you don't have the best equipment, your show may not sound as great as the last one or the next one. If you have a reputation, it is on the line. If you forget what you are doing, it shows up on YouTube. If you remember what you're doing, it shows up on YouTube. If you do something new that isn't ready, or something old that you screw up, it is on YouTube. If snot comes out of your nose while you are playing the harmonica and slithers down the harmonica rack onto your T-shirt, it is on YouTube. If you say something stupid..." - Neil Young
(Neil is working on a sound system that will vastly improve the quality of downloaded music. He is known mostly for his work with Buffalo Springfield which had a debut album in 1966, and then as the Y in Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young.)

SAINT PATRICKS DAY - AN IRISH BLESSING
May there always be work for your hands to do,
May your purse always hold a coin or two.
May the sun always shine on your windowpane,
May a rainbow be certain to follow each rain.
May the hand of a friend always be near you,
May God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you.

Google is going to stop providing the RSS Feed Reader Service that a few of you are using to read Wes Bryan - My Life in Music.
Quote, "Google Reader is the company's online service for managing and viewing RSS feeds. RSS, or Real Simple Syndication, is a system that lets websites and podcasts push content to users instead of requiring them to visit sites to check for updated news and other content. Reader gave users a way to manage their feeds and easily sync those feeds between multiple devices."
Several other Google products are mentioned in this article as also being cancelled as well as some option suggestions.
In previous articles on the net, from various sources, it has been noted that people are reconsidering their Internet Time. We understand. We are also limited when it comes to the amount of time we can spend on the Internet so we are honored to know how many of you do visit a post or two of our Google Blogger.
Thanks Again for Reading WES BRYAN - MY LIFE IN MUSIC!
